Jean-Claude Ellena
Jean-Claude Ellena is without doubt one of the most renowned and talented perfumers of his generation. Born in Grasse and the son of a perfumer, he first learnt about the art of perfume in the south of France before studying at Givaudan.
The late 1970s work of Edmond Roudnitska had a defining influence on Jean-Claude in
creating and formulating fragrance compositions. He restricted his ‘palette,’ rethought the shape of his constructions and became ever more aware of the finest detail. Towards the 1990s, Jean-Claude’s style became more assertive, refined and brilliantly simple!
Before becoming Hermès’ exclusive in-house perfumer in 2004, Jean-Claude Ellena created fragrances for various brands, including L’Artisan Parfumeur. It’s no surprise that they are all now classics!
Jean-Claude Ellena developed for L’Artisan Parfumeur breathtaking masterpieces, which
perfectly illustrate his unique style and talent. Bois Farine is already an icon, but do you
know La Haie Fleurie, L'Eau du Navigateur or L’Ambre Extrême?
