Our Grasse collection candles are housed in beautiful handmade ceramic vessels created by master ceramicists from the Chaozhou region of China. Their incomparable expertise means they alone are able to produce ceramic with this particular, original silver finish. These carefully crafted vessels
are then passed on to other artisans, based in the South of France, who fill them by hand with a high-quality wax combined with the perfume concentrate. To present this stunning ‘objet’, L’Artisan Parfumeur commissioned an original piece of artwork to decorate the outer packaging.
For several centuries, Grasse has been at the heart of perfume production – a result, not least, of the symbiotic relationship between perfumery and the leather trade: to conceal the smells emanating from the tanneries, perfumery developed. The rare scents (lavender, myrtle, jasmine, rose, orange blossom and mimosa) found in natural abundance in the Grasse hinterland made the town the world capital of perfumery.
L’Artisan Parfumeur was thus inspired by Grasse, spiritual home of perfumery, and most specifically by the Grasse “arrière-pays,” or back-country, where mountains and Mediterranean meet. With the passing of the seasons, this fragrant landscape is alive with colours, and fleeting emotions. This new collection is also L’Artisan Parfumeur’s celebration of French artisanal heritage.
Not far from Grasse, the town of Millau, is the glove-making capital of France, thanks to the expertise of its workshops.
In collaboration with renowned glove-maker Causse, a company awarded with the title of “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant”. L’Artisan Parfumeur revisits this near-forgotten tradition, with its scented leather gloves: marrying heritage and modernity. L’Artisan embarked on a meticulous olfactory development, creating a Mûre et Musc Extrême perfume concentrate specifically for the perfuming of the leather gloves. The scenting process, combining nourishing oils with the Mûre et Musc Extrême concentrate (fragrance oil), ensures that the leather is deeply impregnated with the fragrance.
As a result the gloves will diffuse the notes of this most iconic of fragrance. The gloves can also be re-scented using the Eau de Parfum Mûre et Musc Extrême, without staining the leather.
The scented gloves are made from the softest black kid leather of French provenance. They are outstanding quality, perfectly supple and soft to the touch. They offer great comfort as well as that certain French elegance. Buy Now
