Styrax Benzoin / Styrax Tonkinensis
Amber/Round/Warm
This strange tree is found in the mountains of Laos, with their endless forests. The farmer cuts about fifteen centimetres into the bark of the trunk and the resin “weeps” three months after the cut. Harvested by hand, this gum gives off a vanilla, liquorice, honey and almond scent and has long been used in incense blends.
