Cloves are the flower buds of a tree native to the Moluccan archipelago of Indonesia. The essential oil, obtained after steam distillation, gives off spicy, warm, camphor notes. Clove invariably brings to mind the comforting aromas of gingerbread. It adds great depth and character to a composition.
