L'Artisan Parfumeur's first Parisian boutique, in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

Jean Laporte wanted his first boutique in Paris to be in Saint-Germain-des-Prés but, still at the outset of his adventure, was in theory without the means.
Determined nevertheless, he spotted one day a small boutique at 84 bis rue de Grenelle, with an atelier in the backyard. He met the owner, presented his products, and she agreed a rent for this intriguing young talent. Until now, perfume retailers had carried a mix of brands.
However, Jean Laporte, just like a couturier, showcased his creations in the shop windows, decorated them with care. In an apothecary setting, this approach stood out, catching the eye of passers-by. And once inside, he would regale the story contained in the bottles he himself had designed.
Later, L'Artisan Parfumeur took the experience a step further, with customised bottles, packaging, and for those in search of further luxury, made-to-measure perfumes.
