Nicknamed “black gold”, oud (from the Arabic al-oud, wood) is a highly scented precious wood resin secreted by certain trees of the Aquilaria genus, provided they are infected by a fungus. This natural lottery adds to the preciousness of this woody, leathery, spicy, animalic and slightly fruity essence, capable of putting Middle Eastern perfume lovers into a trance.
