Keen traveller, Jean Laporte toured the world, devouring its wonder.

All that he sees brings joy. On the shores of the Bosphorus, fires of fragrant woods inspired him to create home fragrances. A journey into the heart of the Atlas mountains, with orange trees and dusky jasmine, became a recurring theme. Then the souks and their spices, herbs, and other medicinal plants. Later, he would discover the complexities of amber. Initially an animal secretion, it had found an unending demand in perfumery.
L'Eau d’Ambre, has a rare carnal power and enveloping warmth. It demands meticulous measuring and subtle pairing, in particular, benzoin and patchouli. In its wake, the balmy Couleur Vanille, with incense and Dzongkha, like a stolen memory. And on the cusp of the year 2000, shamanic rituals, prayers and ceremonies are translated into Passage d'Enfer.
The more he travelled, the more Jean Laporte saw the world as his crucible. A ferocious explorer, divining, discarding, documenting, the scientist in him was ever present. Driven by genuine passion, he never ceased to nourish his endless curiosity.
